WINTER SOLSTICE
Winter Solstice happens on the shortest day, and the longest night, of the year.
In the Northern Hemisphere we celebrate this natural event on the 21st and the 22nd of December each year.
As we are in the middle of Winter, and Autumn has definitely passed, let us spend some time in Nature to really appreciate those three coming cooler months.
The air we breathe is so vital for our physical and mental health and well being, and this is one such occasion for us to be in Nature and take it all in.
The coming three months of Winter are closing and preserving of our energy.
The water is freezing; the Earth is cracking up; the light is of a special quality and colour, especially if you are lucky enough to experience Northern Lights, Aurora Borealis in person, somewhere out there.
I suggest you find time, maybe when collecting your Christmas Tree, to take some pictures of the Earth, the Sky, the Vegetation and the Wildlife in your area of choice.
Print them, put them in small frames, sign them "Winter Solstice" and display them in your HOME GALLERY.
Maybe add a poem, a short story, a collage of items from Nature with connection to that particular event.
You might even consider making a "Winter Solstice Tapestry Collage" from items respectfully collected in Nature.
All you need is two sticks (for top and bottom frame) some yarn or twine (vertically woven) and then feel free to add Nature into your very own interpretation of what this year's Winter Solstice means to you.
Hanging next to the pictures gives a full impression of, who and what you are right now: you are writing your own personal history, my friends...
Wishing you all a wonderful and peaceful "Winter Solstice"...
